Upon arrival at the Lake Harmony RV Park we noticed there was an unbearable amount of biting gnats. Sue happened to ask the clerk in the office about the gnats and she told her to buy a body spray by Bodycology called toasted sugar. It is a vanilla and brown sugar spray. Low and behold it worked awesome.
We left our motorhome at the Lake Harmony RV Park, took the pups and headed to Saint Simons Island. This island has a large amount of homes built in the 1800's. Most have been restored and maintained to look like they did when they were originally built.
The downtown area on St. Simons Island is lined with small shops and cafes. It reminds me what downtown Newport Beach may have been like 50 years ago. Considering this was Sunday, parking was very easy to find and no crowds. We rented a golf cart, took the dogs and drove all over the island for about 90 minutes. Very Fun!

After throwing the ball for the dogs they decided to cool off by laying down in the ocean,
very cute.
Puppies don't look too happy as we were eating lunch and they weren't. The town was very pet friendly.
We rented a golf cart to cruise around the island to see how the other half live. Not quite as nice as Newport Beach but still very nice.
The island has a lot of nice tree lined parkways with 100+ year old trees
Found this beautiful Cardinal eating bugs in a field
More beautiful tree lined streets and parkways
Our first stop was at this cool lighthouse on the coast.
Day 25,
We left Lake Harmony RV Park in Townsend Georgia and headed for Savannah. We parked at the Savannah Visitor Center. They allow RV's to spend the night parked in their lot. I will say the parking and the surrounding streets were tight for a motorhome. I took out a few branches trying to get into our parking spot. No damage to RV and it will make it easier for the next guy. :)
Sue and I took an open trolley around downtown Savannah to see some of the more historic sites. We were able to get on and off the trolley at will. We jumped off near the port of Savannah and ate lunch at a nice little restaurant.
Beautiful parks and common areas throughout downtown Savannah
Beautiful Church built in the mid 1800's
Beautiful 1800's homes in downtown Savannah
The Saint Patrick's Day celebration is starting to gear up. We were amazed that Saint Patrick's day has been celebrated in Savannah since 1852. On Saint Patrick's day, they have a parade and then the drinking begins. Well actually it probably started last Friday! About 350,000 people attend St. Patty's in Savannah from all over the world.
One of the more notable monuments in the parks of Savannah.
After our exploration of downtown Savannah, we relaxed and spent the night camped out in the motorhome at the Savannah Visitors Center.
What beautiful places you are getting to see!
